Are your turkeys certified organic?
We raise our turkeys without antibiotics, chemicals, or added hormones. During and after processing, we do not add chemicals, water or other solutions to the turkeys. However, at this point, we are not pursuing organic certification.
Are your turkeys ready to cook when I receive them?
Yes! Our turkeys are processed locally and ready for you on the pickup day. They come packaged and weighed for your convenience. They are cleaned and ready for seasoning. Unlike most store bought turkeys, ours are never frozen or pumped full of water or other solutions. So you don't have to spend hours thawing it out before seasoning.
Is there a difference in the cooking time of your turkeys?
Customers have told us and our experience has been that our turkeys do cook a bit faster than store bought turkeys. We believe this is because we don't pump our turkeys full of water or other solutions.
Do you have any recommendations on cooking time and temperature?
Set your oven to 325°F (165°C). Cook your turkey until the temperature in the thigh reaches 170°F (76.5°C). Once you take the turkey out of the oven, let it rest for 20-30 minutes before carving.
What size turkey should I buy?
Your Thanksgiving celebration is like no other, so it's hard to provide a specific guidance. However, the general rule is at least one pound per person. We recommend closer to one and a half pounds per person.
